Bob Peilow, FCII
Having retired in February 2021 after some 48 years in the insurance business, Bob's insurance career began in 1973 on the general insurance underwriting side with Legal & General Assurance Society Limited.
In 1978, he moved to the Middle East, where he ran Legal & General's operations in Lebanon for some seven years during the difficult civil war in that country.
After working in Paris for two years, where he set up a retail broking business, he returned to London in 1988 with the Marine Division of J.H.Minet & Co.Ltd, where he became Managing Director of the Global Marine Unit. In 1995, he became Chairman of Nelson Hurst Marine Limited.
Continuing with his Marine speciality, Bob joined Willis in 1999 and also, for many years, oversaw the development of Willis' offices in UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. As one of the founding Global Client Advocates at Willis, he retired from WTW as Managing Director, and Head of Strategic Clients for Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA).
Bob maintains his experienced contribution to the insurance business by providing selective consultancy services to a number of major of corporations in various jurisdictions.
Qualifications:
Chartered Insurance Practitioner and Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
